Truths and Lies about Red Baltic Amber

Let's start with the truth.

Baltic amber in red color does not exist.


Redish shades are called cognac and they are obtained when the amber is heated. And that color is only oxidative layer on the surface.

About red amber, we can say that some of the companies use vinyl dye (used for clothes). In autoclaves, with pressure and heat help, amber absorbs the dye into itself.

In this way, it is possible to make amber red, blue, green and any other color. Our company never did and does not do this kind of tricks.”

We are categorically against of any glue, lacquer, dye, plastic or any other chemical materials usage, in order to hide cracks of amber or change its color.
